Dazzling deadbeat

He had a bad reputation, a

Damned disposition

The teachers thought he was righteous,

His parents saw him as reckless

My parents still don’t know about

That kiss

He had a black leather jacket,

The heart of a pirate

He took things without askin’,

Did things with no permission

Until he met me

He used to take whatever he did

Straight to the tail end but then

He started being cautious

He was vitiated, voracious,

Spoiled rich

I became another one of his many addictions

The guy had no talent and eventually

I left him

The thrill of it, the fun

Was nice while it lasted

His looks and his wit, goddamn

It’s a shame that all

He wanted was to keep me hidden
