but if you did, it would not all have vanished

in that instant. 

You claim you were unable 

to accept your “own failure,”

but that does not give reason to ruin

what was left.

In believing you had fallen short, that was when you slipped.

I am the hawk circling. Our friends are the ones 

hovering, spiraling, and swooping.

They are reaping the benefits of increasing air currents and

getting ready for the first migration that will take place

without your participation.
