and we live

Reminiscing over another lifetime

Two of my worlds, in this room, collide

We learn about each other

In a way we didn’t get to before

She seems so much happier

Both of us are more mature

Our minds having grown that much more into our bodies

Our hearts the least bit heavier but my soul and hers,

Almost like feathers

That were once stuck upon the same bird

We drift and we’re caught and we float and we land

And we live

My gods, do we live

We live a million lives inside of one real

Beginning and one real

Inescapable end

I am beyond glad that we met

Of course I’ll always cringe but there will never be any regret for who I was

Because then I wouldn’t be who I am

I can honestly say, just as she truthfully said,

“I wouldn't change a single part of it, not for the world”
