He explains things to me when he senses that I don't understand

He translates conversations and doesn't try to keep them a secret between him and his friends

Our first time meeting outside of school

Was when we went around my neighborhood

A bit awkward at first

He pointed out places he already knew

As we walked fast and conversation came slow

No kisses, he walked me to my door and hugged me goodbye like a gentleman

Then got in an Uber and texted asking when he could see me again

I told him only if he meets my mom

He said he would love to

Well, I thought, what is this?

The next day without even updating my friends

They noticed a difference in the air between us

And tried to count the times he looked my way

Analysed the strategies he employed to get closer to me

He doesn't play games, least none I can detect

I would know, see, these past months have had me losing many bets

He calls me on the phone, he cares about my friends

In four to five weeks this will be over but I’d like to live while I still can
