I’m seeing things that I don’t want to see

Because they did things that shouldn’t have been done

I take in the ages on every plaque before walking into each room

The photos of documented abuse

Blood stains the floors I step on

I feel like I should not be here

But then they should not have been here either

Yet they came and turned a school into a prison

They came and killed by the thousands

Their people were slaughtered by their hands because of education
