When the days stretch out so long,
They seem to go on forever
Drinks are cold just like the water
Our skin gets covered by burns and tans
And that's when we turn the music up loud
And we laugh and we dance
Wavy hair and flip flops,
Parties and late nights,
Shorts and sunsets,
Swimming and long bike rides
When you're finally free of stress,
Free of assignments and essays and worries
Eating ice cream, camping, star gazing
Doing something new everyday and keeping it exciting
Losing track of time, but finding yourself
Sipping lemonade, drawing in the sand
Driving without any destination, hanging out with friends
Sleeping in and riding roller coasters
Having movie marathons and pulling all nighters
Patience, soon it will be summer
