It starts with you
Everyone has it but
Some mistreat it
Others run from it
And few suppress it
Why do you not want to believe?
Are you afraid to admit to feeling?
It’s easier to convince yourself
That it isn’t real, that
They’ll all leave
& it's only a matter of when
But happiness exists because we make it
Love subsists because we let it
Our minds try too hard at times
To control what we have no control over to begin with
It starts with you
It starts with lust
And boy, does it suck
Especially when they don’t understand the conviction of your words
They may not see themselves as worthy
Or they might not want to commit to anything
So you’re left
With this overwhelming sense of security
An aching vulnerability
This weird acceptance and maturity
It’s tough
To not self-sabotage
To have somebody worth so damn much
To live in the moment
Happiness is a joyful satisfaction
Love is an enacted emotion
Consuming its victims
Whether strong or weak,
Content or heartbroken
What is the point of having a heart
If you’re going to keep building walls around it?
It starts with you
It starts with trust
And man, does it suck
When they don’t want you back
Instead, they want you to be with them
It is a strange type of desire
Growing more obvious
In times of separation
I’m putting an end to your lack of education
