Meeting you in the same room

I used to spend my lunches in

With him and his friends,

You’re sitting where he used to sit.

Your ex sat across the small table.

I laugh and call it sad.

Why was she so far from you?

I point to the floor by your feet

And say, “That was my spot, usually.

When he sat where you are and his friends took the other chairs and bits of floor.”

Now I am perched comfortably in a chair next to you.

Our legs could touch if we wanted them to.

This is my second time ever in here with the lights on,

And the first time with music playing.

I know this song;

It’s one of my favorites too.
