I don’t wanna take more medicine

But there’s this dull pounding in my head

That roars every so often

Erupting again

And again

I went to bed early

I’ve been eating fairly well

For once I am hydrated

But there it is -

The constant pulse

Matching the ugly thing beating

In my chest
