Poetry isn't pretty,

It's breathtaking.

Every line hits you hard and fast.

It's heartbreaking.

Each word cuts at the muscle in your chest.

It's the monsters and demons

That keep us up every night.

Poetry is my therapy;

It forces me to remember

In order to forget.
